Chiropractic & Spinal Misalignment

Neck Pain and Posture Scoliosis Center of Utah

Chiropractic care is an incredibly powerful form of care that is available to the modern world for treating and correcting common ailments and symptoms. Chiropractic differs by provider and technique. Many of us who believe we know what chiropractic is are under the impression that it is limited to “back cracking.” But that’s just a fragment of the complex benefits chiropractic offers, especially for correcting spinal misalignment.

Most people are unaware of how extensive and supportive chiropractic care is for the body. Chiropractic incorporates many specific techniques, each with its own benefits.

What is Chiropractic BioPhysics®?

Chiropractic BioPhysics® (CBP®) is a corrective chiropractic technique that focuses on correcting spinal misalignment at the root cause. Chiropractors are often known for performing spinal adjustments and manipulations, which are part of the CBP® technique. What sets CBP® apart is its combination of mirror-image adjustments, spinal traction, and in some cases, tools like the ScoliBrace® or Denneroll®, all of which are tailored specifically to each patient’s needs.

When starting CBP® treatment, every patient receives a comprehensive evaluation to figure out the ins and outs of their care plan. This involves a physical examination, a series of x-rays, as well as discussing symptoms, conditions, medical history, etc. With all this information, Dr. Katalina Dean of the Scoliosis Center of Utah can create a personalized treatment plan just for you.

This treatment plan is customized and can produce significant results on the shape of the spine as well as reduce symptoms that encompass everything from back pain, headaches, and fatigue to digestive issues.

What makes Chiropractic BioPhysics® different?

Chiropractic BioPhysics® is a form of chiropractic care that focuses on long-term changes in the shape of the spine. CBP works to reduce unnatural alignment in the spine by slowly moving bones and joints over time, according to a customized treatment plan created at the beginning of your care.

With CBP®, we utilize digital imaging technology and a series of x-rays to not only monitor the movement taking place in your spine, but also compare your condition before, during, and after treatment. In this way, we can get an accurate gauge of how effective the treatment is for you and make necessary adjustments as needed.

Chiropractic BioPhysics® is an innovative chiropractic technique that involves a great deal of intricacy and customization. Due to the intensive amount of detail and customized care provided during your therapy program, CBP® is unlike any other type of chiropractic treatment. It is intended to realign the spine, and it is frequently very successful in doing so, resulting in substantial changes in the curvature of the spine. This is due to the spinal traction component of CBP®, which aims to support each individual case.

The traction component of Chiropractic BioPhysics® is critical to the treatment’s success. Dr. Katalina Dean will determine what sort of spinal traction you’ll get after completing your individual evaluation. There are a number of different types of spinal traction, and each one is designed to match the type of corrective therapy required.

Dr. Katalina Dean will put or seat you in a stationary, manual spinal traction machine to provide spinal traction. The arrangement applies gentle geometric pressure to the bones and joints of the spine in the desired direction to restore balance to the spinal form. To ensure optimum efficacy as well as maximum comfort for the patient, this pressure is applied for a set length of time.

In other situations, a brace (the ScoliBrace® is designed for scoliosis) or an add-on instrument (such as the Denneroll®) may be required. These tools are meant to enhance the efficacy of your CBP® treatment by combining with regular office visits.

What is the point of having an aligned spine – besides aesthetics?

Having a straight spine isn’t only about looking nice. While upright posture is appealing, it goes way beyond that. Hunching and rounded shoulders, as well as a bent or irregular back, have a significant impact on your health and daily activities. Postural imbalances can generate a slew of unpleasant symptoms and some can develop into chronic conditions that make everyday living less comfortable.

Impaired nerve flow in the spine can prevent needed nerve energy from circulating all over the body. Nerve energy commands organs how to function, informs the release of chemicals and hormones in the body, and manages a person’s calmness, clarity, and excitability. As you might have guessed, nerve energy is responsible for everything; it is directly linked to the spine since the nervous system is made up of spinal elements.

An aligned spine is essential for good health. It reduces or eliminates conditions such as migraines, headaches, back pain, neck pain, numbness and tingling, whiplash, GERD, and symptoms related to injury.

Patients who have received Chiropractic BioPhysics® treatment report feeling like they have a new lease on life, significant pain relief, and most importantly, see concrete evidence of postural correction. CBP® isn’t limited to correcting posture, of course—it’s a fantastic way to support a nutritious diet, an exercise regimen, and any other positive lifestyle habits.

In many cases, this can mitigate, improve, or eliminate pain, providing long-term health benefits.
